What it means if you hold data
This transaction shows the maturation of the Earth observation market, where a specific, profitable data business line (maritime tracking) can be spun out and acquired at a significant multiple. It allows Spire to eliminate its debt and refocus on other core areas like weather and climate data, while Kpler consolidates its position in maritime analytics by acquiring a major satellite AIS data provider.
