In March 2025, genetics company 23andMe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. [26] Following a contested auction, TTAM Research Institute, a nonprofit public benefit corporation led by 23andMe co-founder Anne Wojcicki, acquired substantially all of the company's assets for $305 million, outbidding Regeneron Pharmaceuticals' $256 million offer.
